The World Health Organization (WHO)
estimates that between 30,000 and 35,000 children in
sub-Saharan Africa die every single day! While it
is true that many of them die of Malaria, it is also
true that many die from a lack of good, clean drinking
water.
Because they drink from
contaminated pond water they often get diarrhea and
those younger than five more easily succumb to the
dehydration that occurs.
Clean water that is readily
available will help stop thousands of deaths and give
the people better lives. A small sacrifice will
aid thousands of people. Please make one today.
A water well costs us over
$3,500 to drill and complete. If you could drill
one or a part of one the blessing of water will last for
many generations.
The following are statistics
from WHO:
-
1.8 million people die every year from diarrheal
diseases (including cholera); 90% are children under
5, mostly in developing countries.
-
88% of diarrheal disease is attributed to unsafe
water supply, inadequate sanitation and hygiene.
-
Improved water supply reduces diarrhea morbidity by
between 6% to 25%, if severe outcomes are included.
-
Improved sanitation reduces diarrhea morbidity by
32%.
-
Hygiene interventions including hygiene education
and promotion of hand washing can lead to a
reduction of diarrheal cases by up to 45%.
-
Improvements in drinking-water quality can lead to a
reduction of diarrhea episodes by between 35% and
39%

Only with YOUR help can we drill water wells for
the people of Ghana. Since 1987 you have been sacrificing and
making it possible to give clean, fresh, uncontaminated water to the
poor people of northern Ghana. Because of your sacrifices over 1
million people have been given good water to drink.
The job is not done.
We still need
YOUR
help!
Please, right now,
while it's fresh in your mind, give a contribution to help drill one
more well.
